The Listening Body Session

A Tending-to-the-Tides Somatic Touch Experience

“The living body is intelligent, and it will reveal its story if we learn to listen.”

- Rollin E. Becker, DO

What is The Listening Body Session?

The Listening Body Session is a slow, restorative, trauma-informed somatic touch experience designed to support deep regulation, unwinding, and reconnection with the body’s inherent intelligence.

This work weaves Somatic Experiencing®, Somatic Touch, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy to create a grounded, attuned environment where your system can settle and come back into balance.

We follow the “tides” of the body, subtle rhythms that reveal what wants to unwind, receive support, or shift. This session is for anyone longing for a more embodied way of healing and a space to be gently held and deeply listened to..

What happens in a session?

Each session begins with a brief conversation to orient toward what’s present and name intentions. We then move into grounding practices to help your system settle.

On the table, the session unfolds through slow, attuned touch, which may include:

  • Co-regulating touch to support safety, presence, and connection

  • Biodynamic craniosacral work to track the tides, potency, and stillness within your system

  • Somatic Experiencing® techniques to help unwind activation and support integration

  • Moments of guided awareness to help you feel what’s shifting inside

  • Long pauses and deep quiet to allow your body to move at its own pace

We close with time to reflect and integrate so you leave feeling more settled and connected.

Why it Matters:

Many of us move through life bracing, holding, or staying in survival mode long after stress has passed.

The Listening Body Session offers a different path—a space for your system to:

  • Release old patterns held in the tissues and fascia

  • Complete survival cycles that never had the chance to resolve

  • Experience deep rest that restores the whole system

  • Strengthen your capacity for regulation

  • Be met with presence, not pressure

When the body is truly listened to, it reorganizes.
When we tend to the tides, they begin to flow again.

Each 90 minute session is $275

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy New Orleans FAQs

  • What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST)?

BCST is a gentle, hands-on approach that supports the nervous system in settling and reorganizing. Instead of using pressure or manipulation, the practitioner listens to the body’s subtle rhythms (“tides”) and supports its natural movement toward balance and health.

  • How is BCST different from massage or other bodywork?

BCST uses very light, still touch and does not involve manipulation, stretching, or adjusting. The work is slow, quiet, deeply restorative, and more about listening to the system than doing something to it.

  • Do I need to know how to slow down for BCST to work?

No. Many people arrive activated or overwhelmed. BCST helps your system find its own pace of settling. There is no expectation that you relax on command because the work meets you exactly where you are.

  • Is BCST safe for trauma survivors?

Yes. When practiced with trauma-informed training, BCST is supportive for people with developmental trauma, chronic stress, and sensitive nervous systems. The work is collaborative, gentle, and always paced with your comfort in mind.
